Napoli renames stadium in honor of Maradona – football

Italian membership Napoli renamed its stadium in honor of former captain Diego Maradona.

The Naples metropolis council unanimously accepted the change of identify from Stadio San Paolo to Stadio Diego Armando Maradona.

“Napoli is delighted about today’s decision,” the membership mentioned in a short on-line assertion.

Maradona died final week aged 60 in his native Argentina. Fans gathered in their 1000’s at Napoli’s stadium to mourn him, leaving candles, flowers, footage and notes.
